Most University bus drivers are required to have a Commercial Driver License.

Federal law has massive regulations and paperwork that must be maintained and monitored for each driver.

Adelphi keeps a confidential file on each driver which must be updated periodically to be within the federal mandates. Adelphi is assisted by an outside contractor, JJ Keller, which assists to insure all the federal mandates on physicals, drug tests and DOT reviews are completed on a timely basis.

Definitions

Commercial Drivers License: A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a driver’s license required to operate large, heavy, or placarded hazardous material vehicles in the United States in commerce.
